Amy Robert, PTA, RYT-200

Amy (she/her) is originally from the Adirondacks but found her way to the beauty of the Catskills in 2003. She and her husband settled in the village Delhi where they raised their family and have become truly connected to the community. With over 20 years of experience working in healthcare as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, Amy brings a deep understanding of anatomy, kinesiology and rehabilitation to her teaching.

Amy discovered yoga while navigating the rhythms and challenges of everyday family life, and quickly recognized the powerful pause it creates. Through her practice, she has cultivated a deeper capacity for introspection, empathy, compassion, and a sense of belonging. Inspired to share these benefits with others, she completed her 200 Yoga Teacher Training through Yoga People Oneonta in 2025. Her training reinforced that yoga begins with oneself, then spreads outward like a quiet ripple touching every aspect of life.

✨ We practice yoga not to get better at yoga, but to get better at life ✨

Mercedes Newkerk, ABT Certified - Barre

As a lifelong resident of Delhi, Mercedes takes great pride in her community. She has always found joy in moving her body. Throughout all stages of her life she’s always been involved in some type of physical activity, movement has always held a special place in her heart.

For Mercedes, movement is more than fitness—it’s about taking time for yourself, checking in with your body, and doing something that makes you feel strong, present, and grounded. It’s something she’s deeply passionate about sharing with others. So she decided to take that passion and begin teaching barre. Mercedes has her American Barre Technique Certification, and is always working hard to better herself for her clients.

As a mother, Mercedes has also come to deeply understand the importance of carving out time for yourself. That experience has inspired her to open her doors and create a space where others can do the same—step away from the noise of daily life, reconnect with themselves, and prioritize their own well-being.

Her classes are welcoming to all levels and all backgrounds. Everyone is invited.

See you at the barre.
